This was taken through a crack in one of the main doors (Nurosmaniye) of the Grand Bazaar (see comments below) on a Sunday when the Grand Bazaar is closed. This is the main thoroughfare of the bazaar and although it used to be 99% gold shops, the flavor has changed in recent years and there are now leather, silver, and rug shops on this street. Because it is the main 'avenue' of the bazaar, it also commands the most expensive rent (another reason why my shop is on a 'back' street). I have been trying to capture the bazaar in its 'off' moments but without using a tripod (permissions, permissions, permissions!) in the low light conditions, it has been difficult to get sharp images.
