Martin Is Asleep
The video of the sleeping man, projected on a miniature bed, was originally created for an exhibition at the start of the new Millennium, addressing the grandiosity of that moment with a counter miniaturisation. The man is asleep, he is not aware of his surroundings. The tiny format lends the work an extra dimension and ‘enlarges’ the confrontation with the viewer.
The work is the first installation of a new series entitled Yolcu, Turkish for traveller.
